Description

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a new role of Chief Strategy, Planning and Partnerships Officer (CSPPO) who will be a voting member of our Board reporting to our Chief Executive Officer, Trish Bennett. Our CSPPO will be responsible for setting our strategic direction and overseeing a programme of transformation across our broad range of complex services. You will lead a broad portfolio and collaborate across our system, neighbourhoods and communities, translating national strategy to shape our future direction. This is a unique opportunity to influence at ICB, regional and national levels; to ensure our lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of our populations and workforce.

You will be an innovative strategic leader, with experience at or close to Board level, bringing a range of leadership experience across diverse portfolios. With a collaborative approach to strategy development, you will excel in complex partnership environments, working across organisational boundaries to foster innovation, strengthen relationships, and influence decisions that shape future healthcare services.  With responsibility for contracting and commissioning, you will partner with colleagues across the Integrated Care System and be instrumental in improving health outcomes, addressing health inequalities, and achieving our vision.

Mersey Care is one of the country’s largest Trusts.  We provide physical and mental health services, serving more than 1.4 million people across the North West. We provide specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health and specialist inpatient learning disability, addiction and brain injury services.

We have more than 11,000 dedicated staff providing services from around 230 sites as well as in patients’ homes. With an annual budget of more than £750m, our remit includes the provision of a range of specialist services across wider regions and we are one of only three Trusts in the UK that offer high secure mental health care.

Our vision is ‘to lead the way in perfect, whole person care that helps people of all ages live healthier lives.’
